First WUTBA Award was rewarded at the 9th ALABAT Congress

Last year at the 9th ALABAT Congress in Bogotá, we had the honor of presenting the very first WUTBA Award.

Dr. Francisco Martínez and Dr. Astrid Malagón, you have been recognized for your exceptional and sustainable commitment to tissue donation. Thank you for bringing ALABAT “back to life”, for carrying forward the vital work of the association, and for connecting professionals and health authorities. Your dedication is truly inspiring. Congratulations on being the first-ever recipients of the WUTBA Award – you’ve made a lasting impact”, says Martin Börgel, Secretary General of the WUTBA

As we often remind ourselves:

the real challenge isn’t a lack of donors;
it’s a lack of organization.

That’s why, from now on, we will make the WUTBA Award an annual tradition. We’ll honor individuals around the world who are driving meaningful change, improving access to tissue donations, and making a difference in people’s lives. Because each of us has the power to make a difference.

In the following videos, the WUTBA Award recipients Dr. Francisco Martínez and Dr. Astrid Malagón share their takes on the 9th ALABAT congress, give an outlook on future plans and express the importance of ALABAT being part of WUTBA.

Dr. Francisco Martínez expresses the importance of the ALABAT Congress, its affiliation to WUTBA, and the joint action in the future.

Dr. Astrid Malagón lists some highlights of the 9th ALABAT Congress and gives an outlook on the following years.
